pp108 : Creating a Shortcut using URL

Creating a Shortcut using URL

This topic describes the procedure to create a shortcut for an application in Process Platform.

Shortcuts enable you to invoke applications directly, without having to navigate to them. The Shortcut bar in CUSP provides default shortcuts to applications using which you can set your user preferences or view the product documentation. In addition, Process Platform provides you the functionality to create and add your own shortcuts to the shortcut bar.

To create a shortcut for an application or artifact,

  • simply drag the application or artifact from the My Applications App Palette to the shortcut bar,
  • place the mouse pointer over the application or artifact, select and select Copy to Shortcut bar, or
  • use the URL of the application to create a shortcut, as detailed below.

You can create a shortcut using the URL of an application as follows.

  2. Select the URL in the Clipboard dialog box and copy it.
  3. In the Shortcut bar, click and select Create Shortcut. The Create Shortcut App Palette opens.
  4. Make appropriate modifications.

    • Enter the text to be displayed as a tooltip in the Tooltip for the Shortcut field.
    • Enter a unique identifier in the ID field. This is a mandatory field.
    • Enter the URL of the icon to be used for the new shortcut in the Icon URL field.
    • Enter values in the Left and Top fields to specify the position at which the application must open when launched from the shortcut bar.
